1% for prices up to KRW 600M; linearly sliding 1–3% for KRW 600M–900M; 3% above KRW 900M. Homes under 85㎡ are exempt from the rural special tax.
The Ministry of Land designates areas with rapid price growth as regulated zones. Purchasing a 2nd+ home in a regulated zone triggers much higher acquisition tax rates. Check the current list on the MOLIT website.
Local education tax equals 10% of the acquisition tax amount. E.g. if acquisition tax rate is 1%, education tax adds 0.1% of purchase price.
